Abodu Kitchen Remodeling: The San Jose Owner’s Guide
Abodu kitchen remodeling in San Jose typically costs $16,520 to $53,100 fully installed, depending on cabinet line, countertop material, and how much of the existing layout you’re changing. If your Abodu unit’s kitchen has a failing cabinet hinge, swollen cabinet box, delaminating countertop edge, or cracked backsplash tile, we stock compatible replacement parts on our trucks and can usually complete the swap in a day or two once we’ve confirmed the measurements. Most owners discover the problem when a drawer stops closing flush or a countertop seam starts lifting near the sink.
We’re an independent San Jose remodeling contractor. We’re not affiliated with Abodu, but we’ve worked on enough of their units to know exactly how their kitchen components are spec’d, which aftermarket parts fit cleanly, and where the Abodu-specific failure points tend to show up first.
Which Abodu Models This Applies To

Abodu’s kitchen components are consistent across their standard floor plans, which simplifies parts matching if you know your unit’s vintage. Their early units shipped with slab-front cabinetry in matte laminate finishes, while newer models use a mix of flat-panel and shaker-profile doors with soft-close hardware from European suppliers. The key spec to measure before calling us is your cabinet box depth. Abodu boxes run 24 inches deep in the base cabinets but some peninsula modules use 21-inch boxes, and that half-inch difference between door widths on the two systems is a compatibility gotcha. A 15-inch door from a 24-inch box will not hang right on a 21-inch box, even if it looks identical at a glance.
For countertops, Abodu units commonly carry a 2cm or 3cm solid-surface or quartz top, and the edge profile matters. We keep both 2cm and 3cm Cambria and Silestone remnants in our San Jose shop for patch-and-match work. If you’re fine with aftermarket cabinetry, KraftMaid and Wellborn both make lines that drop into Abodu’s dimensions cleanly, and they carry warranties that run alongside our own 365-Day Done Right Promise.

Signs Your Abodu Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer fronts that won’t stay aligned. The soft-close clip on the drawer glide has worn or snapped. Abodu uses a specific 15mm-bore hinge cup, so a generic hardware-store replacement often leaves a visible gap.
- Swollen cabinet base next to the sink or dishwasher. Moisture has breached the laminate edge banding. In San Jose’s dry climate, this usually comes from a slow drip at the sink flange, not ambient humidity, and the fix starts with finding that drip.
- Countertop seam lifting or darkening. The seam adhesive has degraded, or the substrate (the plywood or MDF layer the stone sits on) has absorbed water and shifted. This is the most common issue we see on units that are five to seven years old.
- Cracked or bulging backsplash tile. Behind the tile, the cement board substrate has flexed or the original mastic has let go. Hairline cracks near the range are the first place to look.
- Cabinet doors that rub or no longer close. The hinge plate has crept or the cabinet box itself has racked slightly. This one reads as a cosmetic annoyance but it’s usually a sign the box mounting screws have backed out of the wall studs.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Abodu kitchen remodel in San Jose runs $16,520 to $53,100, and the spread is driven almost entirely by three things: cabinet line, countertop material, and whether you’re moving plumbing or electrical. A small-kitchen refresh with replacement cabinet fronts and new countertops lands around $10,620 to $23,600. If you’re just replacing a failed component, we price by the part and the labor to install it, not by a percentage of the whole kitchen.
Every quote we write in San Jose includes the parts, the labor, debris hauling, and a written guarantee. You’ll get the number in writing before we start, and that number doesn’t change unless you change the scope. Cambria quartz carries its own lifetime warranty, which stacks with our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the work fails inside that window, we come back and fix it at no charge. No re-inspection fee, no service call.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a drawer glide, adjusting a hinge plate, or re-caulking a countertop seam are all reasonable weekend jobs if you’re comfortable with a drill and a level. What we’d caution against is pulling cabinet boxes, cutting stone tops, or attempting to move a countertop seam on your own. Stone is heavy, sharp when broken, and unforgiving when it drops. The same goes for any electrical work behind the backsplash. If the failure involves a GFCI outlet, a hardwired appliance line, or a gas stub, that’s the moment to call someone who does it every week. Give me the real problem and I’ll give you the real number.
If you’re in San Jose and the part is shot, call us at (669) 274-2362. We’ll ask for the measurements and a few photos, tell you if we stock the match, and give you a written price before we send a technician.
FAQs

In San Jose’s climate, expect 12 to 20 years from Abodu’s laminate cabinets and 15 to 25 from a stone or quartz top, assuming the seams were sealed correctly and no slow sink leak goes unaddressed.
Swollen cabinet boxes along a sink base usually need replacement; a lifted countertop seam can often be re-bonded and re-polished in place, and we’ll tell you which one makes sense after a look.
Most single-part swaps, like a set of drawer glides or a cabinet door, take one visit of two to three hours. A full countertop replacement usually takes one to two days from template to install.
We stock common hinge plates, soft-close glides, edge-banding profiles, and quartz remnants that match Abodu’s standard specs, and we can order exact cabinet fronts from KraftMaid or Wellborn in about two weeks.
