Meet the San Jose Team Behind Penhallow Remodeling San Jose
When you hire a remodeling contractor, you’re not hiring a logo. You’re hiring the people who walk through your door at 7:30 a.m., set down their tools, and start cutting into the wall that used to be your kitchen. We’re a small, tight crew in San Jose, and we’ve worked together long enough to know each other’s habits, strengths, and the exact way each of us likes a job site cleaned at the end of the day. What unites us is simple: we write the price down, we show up when we said we would, and if something isn’t done right, we come back and fix it. That’s the whole arrangement, in writing, on every project.

Our People

Trevor Nash, Owner
Trevor runs the San Jose location of Penhallow Remodeling San Jose and has been in the trades long enough to have seen just about every shortcut a contractor can take. He’s the person who walks your house with you before a single wall comes down, asks about how you actually use the space, and then writes a price down on paper that doesn’t change later. He’d rather explain a thing once and simply than impress you with jargon. Homeowners in San Jose often hear him say some version of: “The last guy left this. We’re not going to do that.” His standards come from a simple rule he applies to every project: if he wouldn’t put it in his own house, it doesn’t go in yours. Trevor holds the team to two non-negotiables: a written price before any work starts, and a clean job site when the crew leaves.
Marcus D., Lead Installer
Marcus leads the framing and layout work on most of our kitchen and bath projects in San Jose. He’s been with Penhallow for seven years and is the person who makes sure the cabinet line you picked actually fits the wall you have, which is less common in this industry than it should be. He’s certified in both James Hardie siding installation and finish carpentry, and when a wall is out of plumb by an inch, he notices before it becomes your problem. Marcus is the kind of installer who labels every stud and keeps a small notebook in his back pocket with measurements that never match what the plans said but always work. Outside work, he restores old motorcycles and has strong opinions about which San Jose breakfast spots are worth a detour.
Elena R., Senior Installer and Tile Specialist
Elena is our senior finish specialist and handles most of the tile, waterproofing, and fixture installation on San Jose bathroom remodels. She prepares every wet area with cement board substrate (the moisture-resistant layer behind your tile that keeps water from rotting the wall behind it) and won’t set a tile until she’s checked the floor deflection with a straightedge and a level. Elena is certified in Schluter waterproofing systems, and she’s the reason our bathroom remodels in San Jose hold up to decades of steamy showers. She has a reputation on the crew for being the one who notices a 1/16-inch grout line variation from across the room. When she’s not setting tile, she’s hiking the trails near Almaden Quicksilver County Park with her dog.
Sam T., Service Coordinator
Sam answers the phone when you call (669) 274-2362, and you’ll find a real person on the other end at any hour, because that’s simply how we run our San Jose operation. She schedules the walk-throughs, keeps the crew’s arrival windows honest, and is the reason a defined arrival window actually means something on our projects. Sam has been with the Kingswell family of companies since 2019 and knows the San Jose permit office routines well enough to keep your project moving without unnecessary stalls. She’s also the person who makes sure your written price and the written guarantee are delivered to you before any saw starts. In her spare time, she’s learning cabinet finishing, which she says makes her better at explaining to homeowners what they’re actually paying for.
One Standard, Every Job
Penhallow Remodeling San Jose operates as part of the Kingswell family of companies, which has followed The Kingswell Way since 2004. That’s a phrase we use internally for a set of habits that sound simple but break down the moment a contractor gets busy or lazy. Say the price before the work. Show up in the window we gave. Leave the place cleaner than we found it. Every member of our San Jose crew, from Trevor on the initial walk-through to whoever sweeps the floor at the end of the day, is held to that same standard. Each Penhallow location is independently owned and operated, which means our San Jose team answers for its own work directly. If something fails inside the 365-Day Done Right Promise period, we come back and fix it at no charge, in writing, with no service call fee and no re-inspection fee. That’s not a slogan. It’s the deal. And every person named on this page is expected to honor it on every single job.
